PayPal is honoured to be recognised by Company of Good for our contributions towards expanding economic opportunity, driving sustainability and improving the financial health of individuals and businesses in Singapore. We believe we have an important role to play in contributing to strong, inclusive communities where we live and work. Our employees share this vision and are committed to civic action.
Through our Community Impact Program, PayPal employees help foster strong relationships in their local communities through volunteering, grant making and other activities. Most recently, nearly 11,000 PayPal employees in more than 24 countries and territories participated in this year’s PayPal Community Impact Grants selection program, which awards local non-profits with monetary grants, access to volunteers, pro bono support and other capacity building resources. Since 2019, our Singapore-based workforce has contributed almost 4,500 volunteer hours and more than US$295,000 in charitable funds1 to deepen our impact locally.
“Singapore is home to our International Headquarters; investing in our neighbourhood today means investing in the futures of our employees and the business. It is only by strengthening our community that we are able to further PayPal’s vision of powering an equitable and inclusive global economy,” said Aaron Wong, CEO of PayPal Pte Ltd and APAC Community Impact Sponsor.
As we entered the second year of a global pandemic in 2021, it was imperative that we continued our long-standing tradition of building community resilience, engaging with entrepreneurs and stepping up to help others overcome financial hardship. From helping the silver generation navigate the digital economy to mentorship programmes to develop and upskill youth, our employees were able to lend their skills and expertise to useful causes.
Champions of Good was launched in 2017 as a national recognition framework under Company of Good, celebrating organisations that are exemplary in doing good and which have also been multipliers by engaging their partners and stakeholders on a collaborative journey.
