PayPal Club Excellence Celebrates Employees!
You know what they say, all work and no play make Jacks and Jills dull boys and girls. At PayPal, our employees work hard and still have time to play. A perfect opportunity for some much needed R&R is our annual Club Excellence event. Through this program, APAC PayPal recognizes outstanding employees who live the PayPal values while achieving significant business results.
Employees can nominate their peers or themselves based on a track record of business performance and behaviors. A panel of senior leaders selects the winners and the prize is an offsite experience where winners get to network with the top regional leadership and develop their professional skills while being feted in a celebratory atmosphere. Past winners have consistently rated the program as an outstanding experience in their career at PayPal and the cohort has demonstrated greater leadership, higher engagement and longer tenure after the program.
Club Excellence 2016 took place in mid-November at the funky
W Hotel in Bangkok, with almost 40 winners and senior leaders attending. The winners came from PayPal markets such as India, Australia, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore and represented a myriad of functions such as sales, finance, marketing and technology. Their achievements include giving back to the community through volunteer programs, inking partnerships with customers and improving business processes. All our winning attendees share a common trait of being role models who blaze a trail on how to collaborate as “One Team” and champion our customers.
This year’s program focused on helping winners hone their collaborative skills through simulation and team building exercises so that they can continue to evolve PayPal’s collaborative culture back home. One of the highlights was a gala awards dinner complete with appreciation speeches and trophies.
