Open Up A World of Travel Possibilities with PayPal
Wednesday, 5 October 2016, Singapore –Planning your year-end holiday just became a whole lot easier, more convenient and more secure with PayPal! Global digital payments provider PayPal is partnering with new travel merchants in Asia Pacific this year, consisting of airlines, hotel groups and travel aggregators, to enable seamless online payments and provide an ease of mind when it comes to making travel plans.
 
According to a 2015 research[1] by PayPal, 60 per cent of Singaporeans who were surveyed made travel-related purchases online. With the addition of PayPal’s latest travel merchants, holiday-seekers are now able make that dream holiday a reality with close to 40 travel merchants to choose from. From beachfront resorts in exotic locations and winter adventures at Christmas, to the best low-cost flights around the region, one can breeze through checkout before reaching for your passport and wallet.   
 
Newly onboard PayPal’s line-up of travel merchants this year are airlines including Hong Kong’s flagship carrier Cathay Airways and Thailand’s flag carrier Thai Airways. Holidaymakers can now also use PayPal to book stays at some of the region’s best homes-away-from-home such as Centara Hotels & Resorts available in Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bali and Vietnam;  Henann Resorts’ luxury offerings in the Philippines; and a wide variety of accommodations across Japan’s countryside with Tsuraga Group, Rusutru Resort, and Guesthouse in Kyoto.  Travellers who are spoilt for choice and are looking for the best deals online can now also checkout with PayPal on online travel agents including Best Jet and OYO Rooms.
 
Singaporeans are bold shoppers who are comfortable shopping and paying online (72 per cent surveyed have shopped online[2]), with a majority using one of the most trusted digital wallets[3] PayPal for every day shopping as well as big ticket items and services, such as flights and accommodation, as it offers a greater peace of mind on top of fast, convenient, and secure payment that can be made in their preferred currency. As an additional layer of assurance, PayPal customers’ eligible online transactions are also covered by Buyer Protection, even for intangible goods such as travel tickets and accommodation.
