Social selling key channel for merchants to expand their business

Covid-19 disruptions led small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) in Singapore to discover new opportunities in e-commerce. Kasia Leyden, VP Marketing for PayPal International sat down with Asia Tech Podcast to discuss the latest PayPal report on how Singapore’s SMB’s survive and thrive during the pandemic. The report highlights the willingness of these merchants to invest in strengthening their online presence through social selling and offer consumers more digital payment options. The tenacity and agility shown by Singapore SMB’s to ride the unpredictable wave caused by Covid-19, was a key highlight. In her interview, Kasia outlines the success of merchants going cross-border and how social selling emerged as the key platform to engage customers. The significance of the PayPal brand in building trust and security with merchants and consumers alike was also attributed as a key factor in helping merchants scale their business plans in 2021.
