PayPal has helped Gauri Singh; an engineer grow not only professionally but also develop as a well-rounded individual

Gauri Singh, an engineer at PayPal, Chennai, started learning Java in class 10. Today, she still loves the programming language because it’s constantly evolving, and one can build endless number of applications with it.

Gauri realized how engineering enhanced her logical thinking and critical analysis skills. It helped build her confidence because engineering almost always help her reach a solution no matter what the intensity of the problem is.

Specializing in Java and Spring based back-end services, Gauri currently works with the Growth Markets team at PayPal. She builds end-to-end Application Programming Interfaces (API) to support the front-end and offer a seamless customer experience.

Gauri stared her career in PayPal as an intern and has grown to truly appreciate the plethora of opportunities that PayPal has to offer to employees to learn and advance their careers.

Over the years, she has the chance to work on significant projects at PayPal which have helped her hone her skills as a back-end engineer. Some of her most memorable work at the company include building an instant payment system which left her with many insightful learnings.

If not an engineer, Gauri would have loved to indulge in paid travel and review fiction writing.

* In the spirit of Engineer’s Day, the #EngineersOfPayPal series is aimed to spotlight all the remarkable work they have done across the Tech Centers in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad for PayPal, globally.
